6 tips for getting the most out of your coaching sessions
Choose a coach you ‘gel’ with - Does your potential business coach make you feel comfortable and confident with their communication style? Do you feel understood and supported?
Be open and honest - The best way to get the most out of coaching is to be an active participant. Listen to the questions you are asked and be very honest in your answers. This will allow for a more powerful relationship between you and your coach.
Be willing to see things differently - If you’re working with an experienced coach they will often challenge your perspective on the way you see yourself or the world. Being open to that and having a willingness to look at things from a new angle, will open up new possibilities for you.
Do the work - One of the most important things to get the most out of your coaching sessions is being proactive about taking action before or after you meet with your coach. Coaching sessions will always end with agreed actions. Plain and simple, if you don’t take the actions, you won’t get the results.
Turn up - This isn’t just about being physically present in the sessions and being on time (although those are important too). It’s also about being mentally and emotionally engaged in the sessions. Turning off distractions and focusing on the conversation with your coach makes a HUGE difference in what you’ll get from the sessions.
Be clear on expectations - A good coach will be very clear about setting expectations at the beginning of the coaching relationship and throughout your interactions. Make sure you know what the coach expects of you and what you can expect of them!
